Albany Creek State High School

An “L” shape plan with single and double storey wings was designed to suit the sloping terrain. The plan and section minimised cut and fill on the site and provided improved connection from the lower section of the site to existing sporting facilities adjacent the upper level. The “L” plan also created and opportunity for an amphitheatre for external activities.

 

The linear plan with single room thickness to both wings promotes cross ventilation and natural day lighting. Environmentally sustainable design and appropriate passive solar design was a key design objective.
