Kelvin Grove State College

The Learning Centre incorporates 18 General Learning Areas, a special education unit, extensive staff facilities and an undercroft with future proofing for 4 additional GLAs.  An innovative construction system was developed to allow the floor plate level with the road access to be constructed first as the building platform for the remainder of the building including required scaffold.

The existing campus contained some excellent examples of circa 1950s education buildings.  The Learning Centre drew on the materials and proportions of these buildings in its design.
